Kirkpatrick Sale (Ithaca, N.Y., 1937), co-fondatore del North American Bioregional Congress, è segretario della Schumacher Society, vice-presidente del PEN American Center e autore di vari libri, tra cui Human Scale e Power Shift. Collabora inoltre con vari periodici come "Newsweek", "The Nation", "Mother Jones", "New York Times Review of Books". In Italia è uscito anche il suo saggio Ribelli al futuro.
